• Dr Savvidis, representing the European Commission, will be attending the "1^st Meeting of the G20 Transport Task Group and South American Summit of Vehicle Emissions" that will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 24-27 September 2018. As the first in-person meeting of the G20 Transport Task Group, it will engage in a strategic discussion on the group’s activities and vision for the coming years. In this working meeting, participants will also take stock of the important progress made in improving the energy efficiency and environmental performance of heavy-duty vehicles in G20 economies (05/09/2018)

• Dr Dimitrios Savvidis has been invited to join the Advisory Committee, and attend the conference "International Conference on New Energy Vehicle and Vehicle Engineering (NEVVE 2017)" that will be held in Hong Kong on July 21-23, 2017. The conference is organized by IASED (International Academy of Science and Engineering for Development) as keynote speaker. • Dr Dimitrios Savvidis will be one of the main speakers in the workshop "Regulación de la Eficiencia Energética en Vehículos Pesados" organized by the Mexican Ministry of Energy in Mexico on 29-30^th of September 2015. A meeting with the Mexican Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) has been also planned in order to exchange views on the latest developments for calculating CO₂ emissions and fuel consumption from Heavy Duty Vehicles. • Dr Dimitrios Savvidis, representing the European Commission, will be participating from 28 to 30 of April in the international public workshop "Workshop on Heavy-Duty fuel efficiency regulations", co-hosted by PCRA (Petroleum Conservation Research Association) and IEA (International Energy Agency), with speakers including experts from China, Japan, Korea, N. America, and India to discuss the development of fuel efficiency standards for heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs) globally, and implications for India.

• Dr Savvidis will be participating in the Technical Workshop "Heavy Duty Vehicle Efficiency: Aligning Standards Internationally" organized by ICCT in Tianjin, China, on the 25-26 of February. His presentation will be on EU certification procedure, overview and update. This is a dialogue among experts from Japan, N. America, China and Europe on the technology potential of various categories of Heavy-Duty vehicles (HDV) around the world, the feasibility and costs of various testing and simulation strategies employed in fuel efficiency standards. He will be repsenting European Commission and provide information on the latest developments on CO₂ HDV emissions.
• On the 1^st of December 2013 Dr Dimitrios Savvidis has been appointed as a Seconded National Expert at European Commission, Directorate General for Climate Action (DG-CLIMA) in Brussels, Belgium.
